The goal of this project is to continue the collaboration between the two labs and to functionally characterize Arabidopsis thaliana and Triticum aestivum egg cell and zygote specific MATH-BTB proteins via the analysis of potential interacting partners and by detailed functional analysis of knock-out and overexpressing plants. This will essentially contribute to our understanding of developmental events taking place during and after fertilisation with a focus on the establishment of asymmetric cell division in plants.
