The main goal of this project is preservation of local landraces of maize and cereals in South Eastern Europe. This goal will be reached through: collecting, conservation and documentation of the collected samples in each of the partner countries. All these activities will be carried out to provide availability of the local landraces of maize and cereals for characterization and evaluation as well as breeding and research purposes at national, regional and international level.
Short description of the task performed by Croatian partner
The project objectives are the following ones: 1. Organizing collecting missions in predicted rural areas in each of the partner countries; 2. Inventorying the collected samples and complying the passport data; 3. Conservation of the collected accessions (active, base and safety-base collections, depending the on the available material); 4. Documentation, analyzing and comparing obtained data.
